How a discovery dive in Tangier works
Allow 1 h 30 in total. The instructor explains the key skills and equips you: wetsuit, BCD, tank, everything is provided. You walk into the water from the beach, then dive for about 20 minutes, down to 6 m maximum.
One instructor just for you
During the whole dive, a CMAS-certified instructor looks after one person only: you. They handle your buoyancy and safety, you just enjoy.
What you will see
Algae-covered rocks, schools of white seabream and salema, and sometimes a cuttlefish or an octopus.
Price and booking
The discovery dive costs 400 MAD per person. Book ideally the day before. Showers and changing rooms are available on site.
What you learn before the dive
On the beach, the instructor shows you the three useful skills: breathing calmly through your mouth with the regulator, equalising the pressure in your ears by pinching your nose, and communicating underwater with a few simple signs (“OK”, “problem”, “going up”). You then start in shallow water, where you can stand, to get comfortable before going down.

No. The instructor stays with you and handles your buoyancy throughout the dive.

Is the water cold?
It is between 16 and 19 °C depending on the season. The wetsuit provided keeps you protected.
Who are the instructors?
Instructors certified by the CMAS, the World Underwater Federation. They teach in English, French and Arabic.
